AP Credit and Placement Policy
Nearly three-quarters of all states have implemented statewide or systemwide AP credit policies, which typically require all public higher education institutions to award credit for AP Exam scores of 3 or higher. Iowa does not have a statewide credit policy for AP; it currently has institution-based credit policies.
AP Funding
Iowa currently does not provide funding for AP Exams. In Iowa, fiscal decisions—including funding for AP Exams using ESSA's Title IV, Part A Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants—will be determined at the local level.
