AP Credit and Placement Policy
Nearly three-quarters of all states have implemented statewide or systemwide AP credit policies, which typically require all public higher education institutions to award credit for AP Exam scores of 3 or higher. Massachusetts does not have a statewide credit policy for AP; it currently has institution-based credit policies.
AP Funding
Massachusetts provides partial funding for AP Exam fees for low-income public school students.
SAT Policies and Use by Colleges
Nearly all colleges in this state consider SAT or ACT scores in admission for students who choose to submit them, and many also use them to award scholarships and place students in appropriate first-year courses. The following colleges in this state require a test score to be considered for admission:
- Harvard College
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
