AP Credit and Placement Policy
Nearly three-quarters of all states, including Mississippi, have implemented statewide or systemwide AP credit policies, which typically require all public higher education institutions to award credit for AP Exam scores of 3 or higher.
AP Funding
Mississippi does not directly provide state funding for low-income students' AP Exams. However, in accordance with Mississippi House Bill 42 (2025), state funding is available for exam costs, including fees associated with AP Exams. School districts and charter schools are eligible to receive grant funds. More information is available on the Mississippi Department of Education website.
