AP Credit and Placement Policy
Nearly three-quarters of all states, including Pennsylvania, have implemented statewide or systemwide AP credit policies, which typically require all public higher education institutions to award credit for AP Exam scores of 3 or higher. Note: Only the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) has adopted this policy.
AP Funding
Pennsylvania provides partial funding for AP Exam fees for low-income public and nonpublic school students.
SAT Policies and Use by Colleges
Nearly all colleges in this state consider SAT or ACT scores in admission for students who choose to submit them, and many also use them to award scholarships and place students in appropriate first-year courses.
