Providing Unmatched Flexibility, Stability, and Access

Benefit from greater flexibility through the entire test experience with a reliable solution that increases access and opportunity for college and career.

Less Time for Testing. More Time for Instruction.

When College Board transitioned the SAT Suite of Assessments to digital delivery, we got to rethink the testing experience. This resulted in shorter tests with an adaptive format, so students receive unique, but comparable, sets of questions and are given more time per question. While preserving the test’s integrity and validity, we made it easier and more flexible to administer with month-long testing windows in the fall and spring, letting schools and districts choose their administration dates.

Operational Superiority

Bluebook, College Board’s custom-built testing application, is designed to meet the needs of state testing programs. It comes with a system of supports to make it easier for educators to prepare and administer the assessments, with no more paper to manage or ship. The rigorously tested app can withstand disruptions in connectivity and power, so it can be used in areas with less stable connectivity.

Next-Level Security and Privacy

Since College Board has full control over test delivery, development, and administration, we're able to ensure end-to-end security and data protection—so you can trust that no student data is passed to third-party vendors. And in-school test takers have control over when and whether to share their information using Connections™, a free service that lets students see colleges and scholarship organizations interested in them.

More Access Increases Opportunity

Offering SAT Suite assessments during the school day fosters a college- and career-minded culture while removing barriers to testing and opening doors to colleges, scholarships, and career opportunities. College Board aims to make testing accessible for all students and began providing accommodations 50 years before passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Bluebook is designed to support most testing accommodations directly in the app, but paper tests are available for students who need them. 4 Students Walking Together

“From test coordination to test proctoring, our staff thought the digital test was much easier to administer than the paper and pencil version. The Bluebook application, with its embedded instructions, helped us stay organized and made test preparation and administration very easy!”
